The festival is titled Experimental FilmRMNTL since its third edition (see also 1958 catalogue). The organisers chose to drop all but the first vowel(s) of the word "experimental". This way, it can be easily understood in several languages.
The first two editions were organised as a section of the BRUSSELS - FESTIVAL MONDIAL DU FILM.
